Ehlanzeni Hockey honours their best at annual prizegiving

Kamffir was awarded women’s top goalscorer, ladies first league player of the year and women’s all-round player of the year at the event held at Penryn College. Kevin Botha was named Mpumalanga player of the tournament at the South African Country Districts (SACD) week as well as all-round player of the year.

Brendon Blignaudt claimed top goalscorer at the SACD tournament as well as for the club league. He was also named player of the league.

EHA’s Keith Erasmus said 2016 was a fantastic year for hockey in the region with the men’s Mpumalanga team finishing second at the SACD week, an excellent achievement, as well as up and coming players showing their prowess on the field.

He made special mention of junior players, Shane Lourens and Rickardt Wessels, who will be heading to the Netherlands with the u/19 Noordvaal “dream team” next week, and Hope Nkosi, who was selected for the SA u/18B side and spent the weekend playing in the Premier Hockey League, an honour bestowed upon very few.
