Nellies shine in sevens tournament
The Hoërskool Nelspruit (NHS) teams showed great form last weekend when they claimed top honours in both the u/15 and u/18 age groups at the J&M Security sevens tournament.

Six local and invitation teams in the u/15 age group and 16 in the u/18 section made for a good two days of rugby at the sevens tournament, which was hosted by Hoërskool Bergvlam for the first time.
En route to the final, the NHS u/15 side did not have a single point scored against them and it was only in their cup game against HS Middelburg where they were given a bit of challenge. They managed to convincingly beat the visiting side by 28 points to 12.
Penryn College won the bowl final and Lydenburg clinched the win against host side Bergvlam.

In the u/18 section, the NHS team won their pool by beating Noordheuwel and Potch Volkskool and drawing with Rob Ferreira. They had to overcome Lowveld High and their very own second team on the way to the cup final, where they beat Potch Volkskool for a second time in the tournament by 19 points to 14.
Lowveld teams claimed first prize in all the finals with Bergvlam 2, Rob Ferreira and Lowveld High 1, winning the shield, bowl and plate finals respectively.
J&M Security’s Johnnie Terblanche congratulated all the teams that participated.
“We are proud to be the title sponsor for this event. Well done to everyone involved in a successful tournament,” he said.
