LowMed will take over open-water swim series
That is why a pre-existing open-water swim series at the Lowveld Canoe Club in White River has been taken over by team LowMed.

Summer is upon us and in the Lowveld swimming is the preferred sport of the season.
“Our passion is sport and we thought this is a perfect way to get athletes and their supporters together for a fun-filled family event at Longmere Dam,” general manager of LowMed and the event organiser, Taryn Field said.
The first leg is planned for October 8, after which events will be hosted on November 19 and December 3.
According to Field this will be a timed event and all swimmers of all abilities are encouraged to come enjoy an open-water swim experience in a safe, friendly environment.
There will be a 100-metre kid’s fun swim and 400-metre, 1,5-kilometre and three-kilometre races.
In the kid’s event, a life jacket or flotation device is compulsory and must be provided by the swimmer.
No wetsuits will be allowed and the dam will be closed to motorised boats.
According to Field, full medical and on-water support will be available on the day.
Entries are open online at www.lowmed.co.za and each entrant will receive a free cap. You can also enter on the day between 08:00 and 08:45.
“Bring your picnic basket and enjoy the day with us. Apart from a winner at each event, series champions will also be crowned,” Field concluded.
All enquiries can be forwarded to taryn@lowmed.co.za.
