Panoramic marathon set to test athletes’ mettle

The familiar downhill course of the Kaapsehoop Marathon, which starts in the misty heights of the picturesque village and follows a beautiful, panoramic route down to Mbombela, will test the mettle of any athlete.

The race will take place on November 5. It is also a Comrades and Two Oceans Marathon qualifier. Last year 3 024 athletes finished. Pre-entries will close on October 21.

Athletes can enter on Friday, November 4 from 10:00 to 20:00 and Saturday morning from 03:00, at Mbombela Stadium.

Buses will depart as follows:
• 42,2km at 03:30
• 21,1km from 04:00
• 10km from 05:15.

All buses will depart from Mbombela Stadium. Please make use of the buses since the road will be closed from 04:00.

The starting times for the marathon and half-marathon will be 05:30.

The 10km will start at 06:00.
