Enjoy a pasta evening with Warrior Ric prior to marathon

The night before Uniwisp and Nelspruit Marathon Club will have a pasta evening with the famous Warrior Ric. This will take place at Mbombela Stadium.

There are only eight days to go before the 2016 running of the popular Kaapsehoop 3-in-1.

Entries are now open and all runners (and walkers) are invited to participate in this scenic race on November 5.

Costs are only R60 per person which includes pasta and a drink. It starts at 17:00 and Warrior Ric’s motivational speech will be at 18:00.

The familiar and challenging downhill course, which starts in the misty heights of the picturesque village of Kaapsehoop and follows a beautiful route down to Mbombela, will not only test the mettle of all athletes, but is also an early qualifier for both the 2017 Comrades and Two Oceans.

The finish line for all three races will be at Mbombela Stadium where a bus will wait to take athletes back to their respective starting points. The stadium can accommodate all spectators, has more than enough toilet and shower facilities and offers ample secure parking.

Of course there is also an area for post-race socialising and that all-important, thirst-quenching cold beer after all your hard work.

The Kaapsehoop 3-in-1 has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with a record number of runners taking part. It is now one of the largest races in the Lowveld.

Note that pre-entries are already closed. Race numbers for the pre-entries can be collected at Mbombela Stadium on Friday from 10:00 to 19:00, or on Saturday from 03:00 to 05:00 or at the respective starting points (10km, 21,1km or 42,2km).

Late entries are still allowed at the stadium on Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 or on Saturday from 03:00 to 05:00, or at the respective starting points along the route from 04:30 on race day.
