Chess player gets gold in White River
A young chess player from Horizon Academy did exceptionally well at a chess tournament in White River this past weekend.
Arjun Sopanam, a grade 3 learner of Horizon Academy, received a gold medal at the Open Chess Tournament that was held at Hoërskool Rob Ferreira on Saturday.
The young chess prodigy also received a cash prize for his achievement.
