The monster awaits
Runners, do you have what it takes to beat defending champion of the Sudwala Screaming Monster, Ntuthuko Maseko's winning time of 01:19:55?
The gruelling race, presented by Legogote Villagers Running Club, will take place this weekend at the Sudwala Caves on Saturday.
The race starts at Sudwala Lodge and heads out on the scenic route, starting with the steady five-kilometre climb.
Once on the top, a full 1 500 metres above sea level, the athletes turn around and welcome the route’s descent. A treat awaits athletes as the route takes them to the mouth of the Sudwala Caves and on to face the Screaming Monster, a formation inside.
Legend has it that good fortune will smile on the lucky and the brave who pay respect to the Monster. The circular route ends at Sudwala Lodge.
