Mini soccer starts stun on field
A cold and blustery day greeted parents who came to watch their soccer prodigies shine on the new glistening green AstroTurf when Penryn Prep hosted a Mini Soccer Festival.
Penryn hosted Uplands, Riverview and St Peters.
The grade one to three boys and girls had an opportunity to show off some dribbling and shooting skills under the floodlights, and they did not fail to wow the crowds.
Shots were flying in from all angles, curling into the top corners with the precision and skill of a professional in his prime.
Goalkeepers were seen diving left and right, parrying balls aside, not bothered by the hard landing on the turf, keeping Matt Reed from Penryn Prep busy with his imaginative commentary on the breathtaking action.

Parents braved the chilly evening with blankets, hot chocolate and braziers while cheering for all the upcoming soccer stars.
The night was an overwhelming success and the players left with smiles plastered on their faces.
“Well done to all the kids, and thank you to the Penryn sports department and in particular Bronwen Erasmus for organising such a successful event. There will surely be many more to come,” said Reed.
