Fighters battle for glory at tourney
The largest kickboxing tournament in Mpumalanga, the Jock of the Bushveld, took place on Saturday at Nelspruit Action Sports.

It is now in its fifth year, and Lowveld Fight Club’s (LFC) Brandt Ehlers said that they wanted to expand to different types of martial arts. “This year we had various categories such as semi, light, kick-light, full contact, low kick and K1 rule fighting. We had more or less 80 fighters from as far as Pretoria, Witbank and Middelburg.
“I am very excited to see what we can do to improve the tournament.”
Athletes from LFC of Barberton, Lowveld Kickboxing of Mbombela and White River, Wolves Marital Arts Academy, RCFA of White River, XKT of Middelburg, Lowveld Fight Club of Machadodorp and Titans from Pretoria, battled for glory.
Lowveld Kickboxing from Mbombela and White River’s athletes received 14 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals.
