Golfers support family at tournament fundraiser
The Corbett family was overwhelmed by the support of golf players from all over the Onderberg during the Dandelion Prayers Golf Day at the Kambaku Golf Club on Saturday.
A total of 72 players participated in the Dandelion Prayer Golf Day at Kambaku Golf Club in Komatipoort on Saturday.
The fundraising event was held in support of Damian Corbett, a former Onderberg farmer, who was in a serious accident earlier this year and in serious need of long-term medical treatment.

The funds raised will go towards providing him with the best possible treatment to aid in his recovery.
It was a Betterball Stableford competition, and the atmosphere was very jovial from early in the morning.
Holes 4 and 9 turned out to be great watering holes, and the group gathered at the clubhouse afterwards. They were joined by friends and family for the prize-giving, where the top players were rewarded for their achievements.
The ladies ruled the day, with Zuna Enslin and Hes Ferreira winning the competition with 48 points. Jaco Botha and Chris Coetsee were second with 47 points and Derick Goncalves and Jaco Botha were third with 46 points. Jaco played twice, as one of the teams needed an extra player, prompting a lot of joking on the field.
Pietman Maritz won the longest drive for men and Chanelle de Kock awarded the longest drive for ladies and nearest to pin on hole 8 and 16.
Nearest to the pin on hole 5 was Henk Griesel and on 18 it was Hardus Snyman.
An auction was held to raise additional funds and weekends away, elephant interactions and a beautiful wooden table were some of the targets of a heated bidding war, all in good fun.
The family would like to thank all of the graciouis sponsors, helpers, players and the wider community for their incredible support during the family’s difficult time. A big thank you also goes to Kambaku Golf Club and their amazing staff for making the day stress-free and fantastic.
