Mopani MTB-series’ best riders crowned

The fifth leg of the Mopani MTB saw a cold and wet conclusion to the series at Penryn College on Saturday morning. 

In the grandmaster men’s category (50 kilometres), Alan Rose took the spoils with a total of 45 points.

Martijn Mallaart reigned supreme in the master men’s category, also with a total of 45 points. Vivienne Turvey was the fastest female in the master ladies’ category. Sub vet men’s category rider, Nohan Van Tonder, was awarded first place overall in his category, and Lousanne Ackerman was the fastest female in the sub vet category.

Burger Bester was the fastest men’s veteran of the series, and Santie Van der Westhuizen the fastest female veteran. Constant Firstenberg was the fastest junior male, and Mike Odendaal took the spoils in the youth men’s category.
