Curro’s u/15 cricketers are provincial champs

Curro Nelspruit's u/15 cricket team was crowned provincial champions after defeating Hoërskool Oosterland by eight wickets.

The match was hosted by Curro Nelspruit.

Both teams won their respective semi-finals and had worked hard throughout the season in order to be crowned the champions.

The toss was won by the hosting school and captain Sameer Mohammed sent the visitors in to bat first.

The bowling attack of the hosts started off well by taking five wickets in the first seven overs, but Oosterland started batting well and they protected their wickets for some time, frustrating Curro’s bowlers.

Curro however, changed their bowlers, fielded well and soon enough took the remaining five wickets comfortably.

The hosts had to chase 88 runs to win, as Oosterland was all bowled out for 87.

Curro went in to bat and lost a wicket in the first over. The visitors did not give up and attacked well, but once Curro found their rhythm the target was reached in 16 overs.
