Junior Action Cricket League ends on a high note
The youngsters had a great afternoon in the nets and will be working hard to keep up the good results next season.
Local youngsters took to the nets on Friday to whack it out for the top spots in the final of this year’s action cricket season.
Twelve teams competed in the finals of the Junior Action Cricket League which was hosted at Nelspruit Action Sports Arena.
Proud parents supported the u/7 and u/9-10 boys’ teams.

In the u/7 division the Strikers took the bronze, defeating the Supernovas by
seven runs.
The Baby Knights took the gold with a convincing 50-run win over the Warriors.
The bronze final in the u/9-10 division was hotly contested with the Panthers beating the Lions by one run.
In the gold final the Hurricanes made quick work of the Black Knights defeating them by 117 runs to 49.

In the open division the Gladiators had to work hard to take the bronze final, finishing off with only two runs more than the Barbarians.
The Crusaders managed a convincing victory over the Mambas in the gold final, whacking 81 runs to the Mambas’ 36.
Event organiser and new manager of the Nelspruit Action Sports Arena, Braam Oosthuizen, said that the event was a great success and that he was excited to see the support and engagement from the parents of the young players.

Oosthuizen was proud to announce that local player, Daniel Blom has been selected to represent South Africa at the Junior Indoor Cricket World Series to be hosted in Christchurch, New Zealand in October 2018.
