Mgiba, Khoza once again named NMC’s top athletes
For the second consecutive year, Elleck Mgiba and Nelly Khoza were named Nelspruit Marathon Club's sportsman and sportswoman of the year.
Mgiba was also presented with the man of the year in the 50+ category and Khoza with that for woman of the year, 40+ category.
During the 2017 season, Khoza topped the log for most 10 kilometres run, with 1 225 kilometres behind her name. Mgiba was just short of the 1 200-metre mark, with a total distance of 1 111 kilometres.
Sibongile Qwabe pocketed two awards, as she was named woman of the year in the 60+ age category, as well as having run the most three-kilometre races, 28.
Nomcebo Nwamba and Augustine Moyane each received an award for most- promising novice runners of the year.
