Three Malalane bowls players to represent Mpumalanga

Three of Malelane Bowls Club’s players were recently chosen to represent the province and will take part in national tournaments in March.

The Malelane Bowls Club’s Piet Smith will be playing in a senior inter-district championship in Durban, Marina Smith at the open inter-district championship in Oudtshoorn and Gareth Dry in an inter-district tournament in Johannesburg. All three tournaments will take place from March 12 to 16.

The club has a small number of enthusiastic players who practise on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

The Malelane Bowls Club celebrated their 50th birthday last year and is best known for the popular Selati Bowls Tournament. It is held in August each year and teams from across the country participate in the week-long event.

The club welcomes interested people of any age to join them.
