“Ash the Dash” on his way to Gold Coast

Asher "Ash the Dash" Biggs has been selected to represent South Africa at the UCI World Triathlon Grand Final Gold Coast in Australia later this year.

The 19-year-old’s selection to the squad came after finishing third at the South African Championships in March. He was selected for the Junior European Tour held in Hungary earlier this month.

Six weeks before the event, it was discovered that he had myocarditis and he was not able to train as he would have liked to. It left him with only five weeks for preparation.

Nonetheless Asher achieved great success in Europe which saw him as one of three athletes from South Africa who will travel to Australia in September.
