Businesses take to the hockey field to help raise funds for school

Riverview Prep School hosted a successful corporate hockey day on Saturday and locals had a lot of fun facing each other on the sports field.

As part of a school fundraiser, Riverview Prep School hosted an enjoyable and successful corporate hockey day on Saturday.

Eleven teams with six players each, all from Malalane, entered. Players included employees and supporters of two hardware stores, farms from the surrounding area, a shooting range, an optometrist, a dentist and a restaurant.

A total of nine games of 15 minutes were played within two pools, before four top teams went through to the semi-finals.

BUCO, Radley Bounty, Dynamic Strikers and Duck ‘n Dive were the four teams that qualified for the play-offs.

After showing perseverance and true grit, Duck and Dive won the gruelling final 3-1 against the optometrist team, Dynamic, making them the overall winners of the day.
