Local lad leader of the pack

Uplands Prep's Le Roux van der Leek is the leading rider in the nipper boys category after the third leg of the Spur Schools MTB Series.

The event took place at his school on Saturday which saw the rider clocking a time of 21:05 – almost one minute ahead of Milan Snyman, who took second spot.

Laerskool Nelspruit’s Megan Botha, who is also log leader in the sprog girls category, completed the three laps in a time of 22:24. As expected, it was battle between Megan and Laerskool Lydenburg’s Christi van Wyk.

In the previous leg which was held at Hoërskool Rob Ferreira, these two girls were also neck and neck but in the end, Megan took the spoils.

Dillon Botha from Hoërskool Nelspruit had to make way for 2016 UCI South African XCO champion, Jooste Coetzee. Although Dillon took second position, he is the leading sub-junior rider.
