U-Tech College leads in Super Eight

The teams which participated were the hosts, U-Tech, Penryn, Sutherland and Curro, during two days of action.

It was a challenging tournament for all the teams that recently participated in the Soccer Super Eight at Lowveld High School.

U-Tech College took the spoils in the senior boys’ tournament after a 0-0 clash against Sutherland ended in a penalty shootout.

Lowveld High School (LHS) took third place, Penryn 1 ended fourth and Curro were fifth.

In the junior boys’ champs, U-Tech College also took first place. They played against Lowveld High School in the final match and won 2-0. Curro took third place.

Making it a hat-trick, U-Tech also took the girls’ title after they beat Sutherland 3-1. Lowveld High claimed third place.

 

Jabulani Magongo, a coach from U-Tech said that the players did very well. “They were really motivated to play and they could not afford to lose,” he said.
