Combrinck to return to the road soon

Combrinck crashed on the first day of the York Enduro which took place at Floreat Lodge in Sabie and was not able to complete the four-day stage race.

The 32-year-old hit a wooden bridge face first. He fell off his bike into the water.

“Thanks to some fast-thinking people who got me out of the water, I’m still alive. I lost a few hours and can’t remember what happened, but it’s good to be home after a few days in hospital.

“I’m still a bit concussed but should be out on the road shortly,” Combrinck said.
