Riverview Prep presents a different kind of Saturday morning run

Bursts of colourful smoke rose from Riverview Prep and the surrounding cane fields on Saturday morning as over 100 people participated in the school's Colour Run.

Runners (and walkers) were pelted with different colours of powder paint at five stations over the three-kilometre route of Riverview Prep’s Colour Run on Saturday morning.

Participants set off in different groups at the school and wound through the surrounding sugar-cane fields, where volunteers with bottles and buckets of powdered paint was stationed.

Namatai and Jabu Dlamini were stationed along the route with pink and orange powder paint.

While many tried to get as colourful as possible, others squeezed their eyes shut and sprinted past the eager volunteers at the stations.

Most of the runners were almost unrecognisable by the time they reached the finish line, but remarked on how much fun the event was.

Besides raising funds for the grade sevens’ farewell gift to the school, it acted as a great way to get young and old active and in nature on a Saturday morning.
