Lowveld High School’s Nolwazi Mashaba has won SA’s first gold medal of the African Championships in Abidjan in triple jump.

According to her coach, Johann Kruger, this is a phenomenal achievement.

She, along with Nhlanhla Maseko and Vuyo Ndlovu from Hoërskool Rob Ferreira, and Hoërskool Nelspruit’s Douw Kruger, is part of the 61-member team of in-form athletes and experienced young stars who are currently representing the country in the 2019 CAA African u/18 and u/20 Junior Championships in Ivory Coast.

“The mandate of the team is to conquer Africa,” Aleck Skhosana, the president of Athletics South Africa, said earlier in a statement.
