White River Rugby Club clashed with Middelburg

White River Rugby Club showed off slick skills when they beat Highveld rivals Middelburg 31-10 on Saturday.

The games were played at White River Rugby Club.The home team outscored the visitors by five tries to three.

 

White River used the home ground advantage and displayed exciting, running rugby.

Although Middelburg never looked like winning they played with their hearts on the sleeves.

According to White River Rugby Club coach Scot Kemp even though they won there is still some work that needs to
be done.

“It was not of our best performance on the field. We won, although it is not what I expected and we need to add more work.

“For now we are on top of the log, if we continue winning we might qualify for the Gold Cup next year,” he said.

Pieter Prinsloo, Marcelino Marais, Jacques Taylor, Ross O’Mahoney and Mpumulelo Matthais each scored at try.
Barend Smit kicked three conversions.

In the second team match, White River won 39-7.

White River will play against Witbank on Saturday at Witbank. White River Rugby Club’s third team beat the Leeulopers 19-12 in a friendly match.
