New T20 cricket league initiated in the Lowveld

To give young Lowvelders the chance to gain experience from competitive cricket the Johan Rudolph Cricket Academy has initiated the JR Cubs T20 League.

The first matches were played at Hoërskool Nelspruit and Laerskool Nelspruit last Friday.

The Bateleurs, Eagles, Falcons and Raptors (all u/11) and Leopards, Badgers, Cheetahs and Lions (all u/13) will battle it out over the next four weeks.
The results of the opening round were:
• Eagles beat Bateleurs by 11 runs
• Leopard beat Badgers by four wickets
• Falcons beat Raptors by four wickets.
