First step towards 2020

Now that the months of training culminated into the Ultimate Human Race, runners will set their sights on this year's Uniwisp Kaapsehoop 3-in-1 Marathon.

Now that the months of training culminated into the Ultimate Human Race, runners will set their sights on this year’s Uniwisp Kaapsehoop 3-in-1 Marathon.

The marathon is a qualifier for the 2020 editions of the Two Oceans and Comrades marathons.

In just over five months, (140 days) runners will take part in what is described as Mpumalanga’s most-scenic race. It is in this spirit that thousands of runners gather in Mbombela on the Saturday for the marathon, half-marathon and 10-kilometre races.

Starting times

All races start on the Kaapsehoop Road and finish at Mbombela Stadium.

• 42km – 05:30

• 21km – 05:30

• 10km – 06:00

Important information

• The 42km starts at the Pear Orchard, on the tar road and not on the gravel road. The first runners are set to start at 05:30. Buses depart from Mbombela Stadium at 03:30.

• Entries close on October 21.

• Late entries and race numbers can be collected at Mbombela Stadium on November 1 from 12:00 to 22:00 only. On race day, number can be collected at 03:00 at the kiosks.

• PROTIME Timing Chips are essential for this race, which can be refunded afterwards or used for other races.

• Buses are available to the starting points of all three races. Bus tickets can still be purchased on race day at the stadium. Buses will depart from the western side of the stadium at:

42km – 03:30

21km – 03:30

10km – 04:30.
