Phakisa Pumas maintain their unbeaten status in u/13 Craven Week

The Pumas kept their cool and defended well to keep the Cheetahs at bay.

The u/13 Phakisa Pumas maintained their unbeaten status during their clash with the Free State Cheetahs on Tuesday.

The home team were the first to score, followed by a well-worked try under the posts by scrum half Carel Jacobsz.

The team, however, failed to convert any of these tries, which kept the members of the crowd on the edge of their seats as the Cheetahs were still well within the reach of their 10-0 lead.

Just before half-time, the visitors answered with a well-deserved try and crept closer with a score of 10-5.

The Pumas, however, kept their cool and defended well to keep the Cheetahs at bay, and their composure rewarded them with another try in the first five minutes of the second half.  After another unsuccessful conversion, the score was 15-5 and remained that way despite several attempts from both teams to cross the try line.

The fixtures for the next games will be determined after the U/16 Grant Khomo Week games during the course of today.
