According to Khanyi Nkosi, the ANC chairman for Ward 15, the main purpose of the event was to renew the youth’s hope for the future, empower them with knowledge about free access to education and encourage them to stay determined to reach their goals. “Even in terms of the activities, young people must know that we create friendship out of the games, not enemies,” he said.

Nkosi expressed the hope that the community could get a youth centre, where young people would not only have access to book but also social engagement. “When we socialise positively, that is when young people become involved, more informed and more inspired. I think that can open minds, in terms of business empowerment and jobs empowerment,” he concluded.
