Months of tireless training recently culminated into 12 dancers of Rhythm Image Dance Studio qualifying to go to the South African Championships of 2019 for the Association International Solo DanceSport.

The competition took place in Somerset West at the end of June. Rhythm Image Dance Studio sent dancers aged nine to 26 to the championship, who danced in 14 different styles split into classic, Latin and energy sections.

The provinces battled it out in a dance-off style strategy game with formation dances. In the district championships at the Arnold Classic our Ehlanzeni team, the Pink Panthers, won and were selected to represent eastern Mpumalanga at the provincial competition, where they also took the spoils.

The team consisted of Maryssa Erasmus, Hailey Denham, Sulize de Beer, Daniela Bezuidenhout, Mariaan Beyleveldt, Leandrie Botes, Shanay Bronkhorst, Febe Gartner, Isabella Cavina, Tanja de Beer, Tenei Stander and Marne Pretorius.
