Penryn College’s first XV put touring team, the 467-year-old King Edward’s School from Birmingham, England to the sword at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday.
The visitors were outscored seven tries to three and lost 43-17.
The English lads put up a brave fight, never giving up, but the pace and precision of Penryn’s play was too much for them.
Penryn were excellent at the breakdown and attacked with venom from turnover ball. Once the College speedsters broke the last line of defence, there was no catching them.
Both teams chose to run the ball at every opportunity and this made for traditional, thrilling schoolboy rugby.
Penryn were up 31-12 at half-time and continued to dominate the second half.
