Penryn College’s u/14 boys hockey team recently stood their ground firmly in the u/14 Noordvaal Tournament that was held at Hoërskool Nelspruit last week.

Hoërskool Menlopark, Potchefstroom Boys High, Noordheuwel, Potchefstroom Gimnasium, Waterkloof, Transvalia, Garsfontein, Penryn College, Hoërskool Pietersburg, HTS Witbank, Ben Viljoen and Hoërskool Rustenburg all competed over three days, and even though Penryn fought tirelessly, the boys only managed to beat Noordheuwel on day three.

Their first game was played last Thursday, where they suffered they heaviest defeat against Garsfontein, 3-0. They, however, upped their game and narrowly lost against Pietersburg 3-2 on the same day. Day two saw Transvaal beating Penryn 2-0. They, however, comfortably beat Noordheuwel, 2-0 on the last day, ending in the 11th position overall.
