Laerskool Nelspruit comes up trumps against Bergland in hockey tourney
The young hockey players gave it their all on the field and their efforts were rewarded with good results.

Laerskool Nelspruit’s u/11 players showed steely determination in their matches against Laerskool Bergland and Nelspruit Primary School at the Hoërskool Nelspruit AstroTurf hockey field last Wednesday.
There were nervous moments during play for both teams who played their hearts out in hopes that their team would record a win.
The Hockey League 4 games saw the u/11, u/12 and u/13 teams walk onto the field in a bid to secure points for their sides and move up the log. The matches were evenly contested and made for exciting hockey. Aside from a few spills here and there, play continued with no injuries recorded.

The three teams acquitted themselves well of the task at hand and made numerous forays into the opposition’s goal with a few tantalising dribbles produced, especially in the boys’ u/11 match.
The coaches shouted instructions from the sidelines and the players carried out these to the letter, in a scintillating encounter between the youngsters.

The result was a brave display from the Laerskool Nelspruit side who put up a spirited performance to record seven wins, two losses and one draw.
