Curro returns victorious from Potch
They were among 61 schools and over 1 000 athletes who took part this year
Curro Nelspruit’s athletes recently took part in the annual NWU-Pukke Top 30 event held in Potchefstroom.

Day one saw mixed results, but with great determination Curro went all in and rose above the North West heat to claim several top spots – one of was Benji Richardson, who won the boys u/16 200 metres with a time of 21,74 seconds.
Thirteen-year-old Miriam Mashood, who took part in the u/15 triple jump, flew a distance of 10,38 metres, enough to secure a top six place.

Day two started with a bang when Taku Taderera was crowned the champion of the u/14 boys long jump, reaching a distance of 6,37 metres which earned him 1 200 ASA points.
“We are pleased with all the athletes that took part at this prestige event. We achieved a total of three gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Our boys team were the overall winners of the C section, with a total score of 9 612,” said the school’s Amanda Steven-Jennings.
