Bungalows bowlers earn a proud second place in mixed pairs finals
Bungalows Bowling Club achieved second place at the Lowveld Mixed Pairs at Nelspruit Bowling Club on January 1 and 2.
The semi-finals were played between Francois Hannekom and Annette Stassen of White River Bowling Club and Jeanette and Joao Richards of Nelspruit Bowling Club. Hannekom and Stassen had the upper hand and beat the Richardses.
Marlet Ireland and Dean Paiva of Bungalows Bowling Club beat LVCC’s Mark Osborne and Debbie Day 21-8.
The greens were running smoothly, but the lines were tricky, and the greens were extremely fast. The players’ weight control had to be perfect, otherwise the bowls ended up in the ditch.
Bungalows had to face White River in the finals, but White River played like champions and beat Bungalows 27-13.

Third: Mark Osborne and Debbie Day (LVCC)
Fourth: Joao and Jeanette Richards (Nelspruit).
