First Curro Interhigh coming to Mbombela

The hosts are currently the defending champions of this event, having won for the past two years.

For the first time since their inception, Curro Nelspruit will this weekend host the prestigious Curro Interhigh at Hoërskool Nelspuit.

It is expected that around 1 920 athletes will attend the event – about 120 athletes per school. An equal number of supporters’ voices are expected to echo through the city from 07:00 onward this Saturday.

The hosts are currently the defending champions of this event, having won for the past two years.
“Our spirit team has won the spirit trophy for the past three years, since this event was inaugurated four years back in 2017. Our athletics season has been of a good standard, as we have won the Afgri top 10 event and we have taken part in three prestigious events already where our athletes have won numerous trophies and broken records,” said the school’s spokesperson, Amanda Steven-Jennings.

Tickets will be on sale at the gate at R10 per person. Learners dressed in school uniform can enter for free. Programmes will be on sale at R20 each and a variety of food and drink stalls will be available on the day.
