Caddie tests positive for Covid-19, player withdrawn from Alfred Dunhill Championship

The player and his caddie will both self-isolate for the prescribed period.

The European and Sunshine tours have withdrawn James Kamte from the co-sanctioned Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club.

This after he was identified as a close contact of his caddie, who tested positive for Covid-19.

In accordance with the South African National Institute for Communicable Diseases’ guidelines, Kamte and his caddie will both self-isolate for the prescribed period.

“The well-being of both the player and caddie is of utmost importance and they will be supported throughout that period by the European and Sunshine tours’ medical and event staff,” organisers said.

Kamte will be replaced in the field by the first tournament reserve, Matias Calderon.
