Mahima scores SA’s first hat-trick in a T20 debut

Siyabonga Mahima (24), a former pupil of Nelspruit Primary School (NPS) and Lowveld High School, is continuing to make waves on the cricket field.

Mahima, who only recently made his List A debut for the Six Gun Grill Cape Cobras in the 2020/21 Momentum One Day Cup, became only the fourth player ever to score a hat-trick in South African T20 cricket, joining Charl Langeveld, Robbie Frylink and Ethy Mbalati.

Despite his stellar performance, the Hollywoodbets Dolphins made a strong start to their Betway T20 Challenge campaign with a 14-run win over the Six Gun Grill Cape Cobras in Durban.

The Cobras claimed a comfortable 24-run win, their first in the Betway T20 Challenge, over the Dafabet Warriors in their match at Kingsmead in Durban on Tuesday. Mahima did not play in this match due to an injury.
