The competitors were thrilled to be back on the obstacle course

Obstacle course racers were back in action at the OCR Nelspruit venue at Core 365 on Saturday.

Forty-six brave athletes competed in the obstacle course and the trail runs.

The competitors started early on a fresh late summer’s morning but the temperature rose as fast as the Lowveld sun. It was soon realised that fitness levels are not what they should be.

Hein Meyers and Wessel Wessels finished the men’s five-kilometre obstacle race together in a time of one hour, 10 minutes and 44 seconds.

Dylan Whitehair was third in 01:10;59.

Babsie Roos won the women’s five-kilometre obstacle race in 01:09;55. Madelein Whitehair was second in 01:13;16 and Kate Hunter third in 01:13;36.

The next event will take place at the same venue on May 1.
