Du Toit dominates Mbombela Golf Club Winter Championships

He won both the gross and nett competitions.

Neil du Toit won the gross and nett titles at the Winter Championship at Mbombela Golf Club on the weekend.

The tournament followed a 36-hole medal format. Du Toit carded 75 on Saturday and 81 on Sunday, for a winning total of 156.

Markus Myburgh was second on 157 strokes and Franchoa Giliomee third on 162.

Du Toit carded a nett total of 146 to be crowned net champion.

Gilomee was the runner-up on 148 nett and Le Roux de Beer third on 150 nett.

Nidene Stapelberg claimed the women’s gross championship on 186 strokes. Kim Coetzer was second on 208 and Natasha Vos third on 115.

The nett winner was also Stapelberg on 150. Coetzer was second on 158 nett.

• A division Sunday nett: Le Roux de Beer – 74
• B gross winner: Rob Mclagen – 165
• B gross runner-up: Herman Potgieter – 165
• B nett winner: Attie van Wyk – 144
• B division Saturday nett: Arthur Douglas – 72
• B division Sunday nett: Christo van Rooyen – 71
• C division gross winner: Leon Wait – 182
• C division nett winner: Koot Bekker – 145
• C division Saturday nett: Ed Borcher – 186.
