TS Galaxy heading straight to relegation battle

The Rockets have not won a match this season

TS Galaxy will have a battle to avoid relegation after a defeat to Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

It was the team’s second consecutive defeat under new coach Sead Ramovic.

The Rockets are 26th and last on the DStv log table with two points from eight matches. The have conceded 13 goals and scored four in 720 minutes of football.

An own goal by Bathusi Aubaas in the opening minutes of the second half gifted Maritzburg the win.

The Rockets again battled with their accuracy when shooting at goal. Out of 11 shots, three were on target. TS Galaxy’s defence lacked urgency and they conceded six corners and gave Maritzburg too much space.

Were it not for excellent work in goal by Vasilije Kolak, the scoreline could have been bigger.

Maritzburg’s keeper, Marcel Engelhardt, was also in fine form and stopped goal-bound shots from Sihle Nduli, Lindokuhle Mbatha and Wayde Lekay.

Only Golden Arrows have conceded more goals than TS Galaxy this season. The Rockets have the worst goal difference of the 16 teams in the league, -9.

The Rockets have not won a DStv Premiership match since May 1 when they defeated Cape Town City 1-0 at Mbombela Stadium.

TS Galaxy have their backs to the wall.

TS Galaxy will face Baroka FC at 17:00 at Mbombela Stadium on November 2.
