Slicing a tee shot for a good cause

The participants at the annual Sunbake Standard Bank Innibos Golf Day were bietjie-bietjie inni rough, bietjie-bietjie inni bunker, but, most importantly, had baie-baie fun while raising funds for a worthy cause.

The day was once again a massive success. The clubhouse and surrounds, and tees at Mbombela Golf Club were decorated colourfully by the various sponsors. Sunbake served the most delicious hotdogs at the 10th tee and golfers were well hydrated throughout the day.

The weather played along and a cool (for Lowveld standards), overcast day was perfect for 18 holes of golf. Warren Morgan and Hannes Blom won the competition with 47 points (count out). Ti Marobane and Obed Mashego were second and Wayde Mostert and Mikhail Pheiffer third, also on 47 points.

“Even though we are going through difficult times, might it be emotionally or financially, we made this day a success. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to all the players and sponsors of the golf day who opened their hearts to people who are in need. We couldn’t have made this such a big success without them,” said Innibos marketing assistant, Mariolise le Roux.
