Springboks to play All Blacks at Mbombela Stadium on August 13, 2022

South Africa is undefeated at Mbombela Stadium

The Springboks will play the All Blacks in a Castle Lager Rugby Championship match at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday August 13, 2022.

This news spread on mainstream and social media after an article in Rapport on Sunday.

The 2020 Rugby Championship match between South Africa and New Zealand scheduled for September 26, created much excitement among Lowvelders when it was announced early that February.

This match was cancelled in July 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Although an official announcement of this and the Springboks’ other fixtures for 2022 has not yet been made by SA Rugby, Lowvelder can assure its readers that, Covid-19 permitting, the August 13 match between the Springboks and the All Blacks will take place at Mbombela Stadium.

The Boks have played three matches and won three at Mbombela Stadium. In 2013, they defeated Scotland 30-17 and in 2014 beat Wales 31-30.

In 2016, South Africa played their home Rugby Championship match against Argentina at Mbombela Stadium and won 30-23.
