
Nelspruit Primary’s athletes were the pride of their school after their performances displayed and spirit shown at the annual Goldwagen Interprimary.
The meeting was hosted at Hoërskool Rob Ferreira by White River Primary School.
Lufano Khorommbi broke the 17-year-old record in the girls’ u/10 80m. She sliced 6/100ths of a second off the previous record when she clocked 11.54s to win gold.
Joël Akum claimed the gold medal in the boys’ u/8 80m. His winning time was 12.08s. He was also the joint junior victor ludorum.
Lexa Kisaame won the girls’ u/13 high jump with a height of 1.28m.
Nelspruit Primary School’s u/8 boys’ relay team sprinted to the gold medal in the 4x80m race. Joël Akum, Ethan Sambo, Saselihle Mashabane and Thabang Pule froze the stopwatch on 51.71s.
The courageous athletics team claimed another gold medal in the girls’ u/12 4x80m relay. The winning time of Nkateko Sibumbe, Lubanzi Khoza, Lethabo Maphakela and Palesa Bulwana was 45.58s.
