White River Bowls Club singles championship produces close matches

The event was held in the form of a round robin, followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the finals that were played on Sunday. There were some nail-biting games, some which came down to the last couple of bowls.

But at the end of the day, there could only be one winner in each category. In the men’s division, Francois Hanekom, who is also the president of the club, took the spoils, while Yvonne McHeath reigned supreme in the women’s division.
