Karate club continue to impress
Katana Shotokan Karate Club have made Tubatse proud once again.
The karatekas competed in the World Union of Karate-Do Federation and Africa Open at the Sun Boardwalk in Gqeberha on March 25 and 26.
“We competed against teams from Europe, namely Holland and Switzerland; and also teams from other South African provinces. Our team managed one silver and two bronze medals. Five of our members also achieved fourth place. We are proud of all eight karatekas’ achievements,” said sensei Noeleen Snyman.

The management of the club thanked both Snyman and sensei Lefa Sekotlo for all their hard work in preparing these youngsters for such a big event.
“We are grateful for the support we get from the people of Steelpoort and Burgersfort as well as businesses that assist us during our trips. A big thank you goes out to Christa Coetzer of CC Sewing for the attire donations that we used during the tournament,” said Snyman.
