Best of both at Longmere

LowMed Health and Sport Performance Centre and the Ehlanzeni Triathlon Association are hosting a 2-in-1 action-packed event at Longmere Dam this weekend.

The first LowMed Open Water Swim series of the year will take place tomorrow.

A 5 000-metre and 750-metre race will be added to the event’s list.

Sunday morning is an early start for triathletes with registration opening at 05:30. Transition will be close at 07:00.

Triathletes, individuals or teams can enter in either the standard race (1,5-kilometre swim, 40-kilometre cycle and 10-kilometre run), the sprint (75-metre swim, 20-kilometre cycling, five-kilometre run) or the super sprint (400 metre swim, 10 kilometre cycling, five kilometre).

There will also be two development races – kids (200-metre swim, six- kilometre cycle and two-kilometre run) and nippers (100-metre swim, three-kilometre cycle and one-kilometre run).
