Lowveld runner to support Nelspruit Hospice in 2022 Comrades Marathon

Sponsor Fanie Bekker now for a good cause.

Fanie Bekker of Nedbank LVCC does not only see the Comrades Marathon as a personal challenge. Every step he takes of the 90.2km between Pietermaritzburg and Durban will raise money for Hospice.

The race takes place on Sunday August 28.

“I am doing a charity drive for Hospice Nelspruit. I hope to raise money for it as Hospice is in dire need of funds.

“Covid has been financially hard on it as Hospice lost some sponsors. I aim to help by running Comrades 2022 as a fund-raiser and to raise awareness for Nelspruit Hospice.

“I have completed six Comrades Marathons and my personal best time is 09:35.

“Members of the public can sponsor me per kilometre. For example they can sponsor R1 per kilo and the race is 90km so that will work out to R90. Any amount can be sponsored. I hope to raise at least R15 000 for the cause and challenge businesses to get involved,” said Bekker.

Funds can be paid into bank account Combrink Greyling Attorneys; FNB Trust account 62255639662; Ref:Hospice/Fanie Bekker.
