Records smashed at Luneburg athletics
Hoërskool Rob Ferreira athletes continued their record-breaking trend this athletics season by setting up five new records at the Luneburg afternoon-evening meeting on Friday.
One-thousand-three-hundred-and-fifty-four athletes from host school Rob Ferreira, Uplands College, Sybrand van Niekerk, Penryn College, Bergvlam, Middelburg, Merensky and Ben Vorster competed. The pavilion was packed with supporters from far and wide and thankfully temperatures dropped slightly as night fell.
Several local athletes and teams managed to set up new records and won their items.

The girls u/19, 4x400m relay team also took gold and set a new record time of 01:07,92 .
Nksosana Mpinga starred for Rob, winning the boys u/15 100m in a record time of 11,68 seconds and equalling the 200m record (24 seconds flat).
The Uplands girls u/17 4x400m relay team set a new meet record. They speedsters completed the race in 01:13,32, beating the old record by 1,26 seconds.
The school’s top athletes had just a few days to recover and hone their skills, as they’ll be participating in a Prestige Invitation Meeting at HTS Middelburg tomorrow.
