Heads up!

Mpumalanga Shellhole’s first MOTH Quiz Night, held last Wednesday at Gumtreez Pub & Grill, Casterbridge was a resounding success and they are under some considerable pressure from all quarters to host another one again soon.

Watch this space!

There were too many prize donors to mention in this forum, but they will be thanked elsewhere.

Regiment Botha en die Transvaal Skotse Regiment het laas naweek hul vryheid van die dorp op Barberton uitgevoer deur met ontskede bayonette. They were allowed through town with unsheathed bayonets) deur die dorp te marsjeer.

The tradition behind being granted and exercising the freedom of a town goes back to Roman times, and Barberton is the only town in the Lowveld where this tradition is maintained annually.

Welgedaan aan Kol Dries Joubert, bevelvoerder van Regt Botha en Ou Boet van Lone Tree Bomgat (Barberton) dat hy hierdie eeue oue tradiesie volhou.

So you own a thunderstick but you never get a chance to keep your eye in? Well open your eyes and hold the following paragraph close to your face.

Lone Tree Shellhole will host a shooting day and bring & braai at Dusty Ranch, Regiment Botha’s base just on the edge of Barberton,

this coming Saturday (September 7).

Bring your own artillery, ammo and licences.

Bring your own grub (Braai fires and pap&sous will be provided by the hosts).

All Lowveld Moths are reminded that the Wimpy at Hall’s Gateway offer a special MOTH discount on Tuesday mornings for all Moths wearing their Tin Hat lapel badge.

This last Tuesday we had a particularly healthy turnout of hungry Moths who managed to solve most of the world’s troubles between mouthsful of delicious Wimpy breakfasts.

Terwyl ons nog aan ons mae dink, the monthly MESCA braai will be held at the MOTH Cottages this coming Sunday, starting at 12:00. Hierdie braai word maandeliks vir die inwonders van die MOTH huisies gehou, and all Lowveld Moths have a standing invitation to pitch up and enjoy the day with the MESCA cottage residents.

Bring your own meat. Die vuur, pap en sous sal verskaf word.

The Sabie MOTH golf day date has changed from the October 26 to October 19.
