Pet owners are to blame too
It shocks me that there is still that level of ignorant uneducated thinking out there and that the SPCA hasn't adapted its views appropriately.

It provides an essential service to the community and I applaud you for that, your biggest enemy is the irresponsible pet owner, who is a far crueller being than the hunter.
A responsible hunter will never just breed animals because he thinksthey are cute. He will rarely say, “Oh, my dog or cat is pregnant I wonder how that happened?” and then dump them at your doorstep. Your focus is far more valuable on your own kind, they need the most guidance and education. If there was a society against irresponsible breeding and caging animals, the hunter/fisherman/outdoorsman will be your biggest fan.
