The association was formed in 1994 with the aim of addressing the needs of people with disabilities.

There was also a need of establishing a provincial structure, which would co-ordinate the regional associations serving people with disabilities keeping in line with policies of the National Council for People with Physical Disabilities in South Africa.”

Upcoming Club Events

• October 25 – Open Day/Boeremark at MAPD office at 2 Silver Oak Street, Nelspruit
• November 2 – National Children’s Day and also MAPD’s Annual Nappy Run in aid of children with Disabilities. The Nappy Run is hosted at Mbombela Stadium together with Nelspruit Marathon Club who will be hosting their Rudamans Kaapsehoop 3-in-1 Marathon (42,2km/21,1km/10km and the 3 km Nappy Run/Walk/Roll or Stroll).
